Organizer

Urban Voice

Urban VOICE is an all-volunteer organization. We work closely with communities to create projects that tell the personal stories of everyday people. Our goal is to make media that informs, inspires, and encourages action for the common good.

Through a partnership with the Edward Shands Adult School in Oakland, CA. Urban VOICE offers entrepreneurship training called Urban FIRE reflecting an opportunity to move forward one person, one business at a time. The class is a 21st Century version of the civil rights movement, using the lessons of entrepreneurship to lead to self sustainment and self determination.

Thanks to the Oakland School District's Adult and Career Education division (OACE), we are able to provide these training classes at only $10 per semester. The class offers the achievement of entrepreneurship especially as it relates to social justice and forging greater economic potential for our low-income, inner-city neighborhoods.

Visit our website for more information. www.urbanvoice.org or join us at Ignite! 2009 on June 25th!
